I founded Dry Dock Studio 15 years ago as an atelier specializing in one of a kind ceramic pieces. Over the years we have refined our process and aesthetic and are rolling out a new line of contemporary planters for home and landscape. After working for years in the landscape design and construction field, which included working with many accomplished designers, I noticed there was a lack of domestically made, durable, modern ceramic planters. At the shop we have developed a frost proof, fully vitrified planter which can stand up to the harsh outdoor environment of the Northeast United States, or can hold a plant indoors without the necessity of a saucer to catch the water.

We make everything by hand at our studio just outside Spencertown in upstate New York. We fire the ware in a 72 cubic foot gas kiln. We also have electric kilns, raku kilns and a small Minnesota Flat top kiln I built from scratch which I’m currently using to fire cone 10 porcelain in, something which may also eventually be featured on this website.

We welcome visitors to the shop by appointment so if you’d like to stop by for a coffee or tea and talk ceramics, or just to meet our new employee, Leo our Golden Retriever, please get in touch.

Thank you for your interest,

Sebastian
